Leaving your comfort zone to reach Jesus

Being touched by Jesus sometimes means you have to leave your comfort zone.

Luke 8:43-48

Luke 7:11-17 (NKJ)

“43 Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any,
44 came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped.
45 And Jesus said, “Who touched Me?” When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes throng and press You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ”

46 But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.”
47 Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately.
48 And He said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”

Excerpt From
NKJV

So let’s start setting the stage, a man named Jairus came to Jesus and begged him to come to his house and heal his daughter for she is dying. There is this massive crowd around Jesus, Jesus agrees to go with Jairus. As they are walking, a woman who had an issue with your blood for 12 years, who spent all her money trying to get cured and has failed, comes walking up to Jesus through the crowd. She is thinking if I can only touch his clothes I will be healed. She comes up behind him and just touches the border of his garment, and she is instantly healed.

All of a sudden, Jesus realize something happened. He starts asking who touched me? But they are in the middle of a massive crowd, and his disciples asked the question what do you mean who touched you, everybody’s touching you.

But Jesus knew someone touched him and was healed, he felt the power relieve him.

Now I can imagine this woman trembling in fear when she realize that Jesus knew she touched him. I am sure at that moment all kinds of things were racing through her mind, wondering what was he going to do. So she comes to him Falls to her knees and humbly tells them what she did. I can imagine Jesus turning to her looking at her with a smiling face, and eyes of love, and saying to her, “daughter be of good cheer; your faith has made you well, go in peace”

The relief and happiness that must’ve filled her soul at that moment, she went out of her way when she heard about Jesus coming, fighting through the crowds to make your way to Jesus, thinking if I can only touch his garment I will be made well, and when she did, and Jesus knew something happened and started asking, the fear that must’ve come over her. Then the joy when she was relieved that the loving words the tender compassion that Jesus showed her. If you’re serious with Jesus and go out of your way to make your way to him, I do not think you’ll be disappointed expect a wonderful experience with our loving Savior.
